Training is a stimulus; your body adapts in the rest afterwards. Sleep, nutrition, stress and muscle soreness all play a part.
Signals to watch for
- You sleep worse or less than usual.
- Your energy is low for several days in a row.
- You have a lot of muscle soreness or your performance declines.
- You feel irritable or unmotivated.
The recovery monitor
Primal Ember combines what you enter (sleep, energy, stress and soreness) into a simple score. You can always see what the score is made of. It is a tool to listen to yourself, not a measure of your health.
What to do on a low day
Choose a calm walk, mobility or a breathing exercise instead of a hard workout. A lighter day is not falling behind; it is part of your progress.
